In a bid to explore ways to invest in Sierra Leone a four man delegation from the Ahad group of companies based in Saudi Arabia has taken formal leave of His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. In a ceremony held at the State Lodge the head of the group Sheikh Omar Ghazzawi expressed their profound thanks to His Excellency the president and people of Sierra Leone for the hospitality accorded them, he commended the government for their development strides according to him he visited this country eight year ago but the country has developed rapidly and pray that more development will come for this country. Sheikh Omar Ghazzawi disclosed that the delegation is in this country to see how they can contribute to its development, he said that during their stay they had a fruitful discussion with the University of Sierra Leone to see how they can exchange programmes with their counterpart in Saudi Arabia and the Introduction of Islamic Studies at the Fourah Bay College. Sheikh Omar Ghazzawi also said that the delegation visited the Freetown City Council and other Ministries to see how they can contribute and disclosed plans to help Freetown City Council especially in the area of waste management and exchange programmes. He assured the president of their contributions to achieve his dream for the people of Sierra Leone. Responding the President welcome the delegation of business men from Saudi Arabia and Oman, he assured the delegation that his government will give its fullest co-operation to any group that want to invest in contributing to the socio-economic of this country. The President gave an overview of the development strides its government had undertaken and pending projects that will develop the country. He entreats that the bond of friendship between Sierra Leone and their respective countries will be strengthened. Earlier the Head of Delegation Sheikh Omar Ghazzawi introduces his team which includes Dr. Mohamed Naseef from Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Khalid Al-Jabry and Kalfan Shaikhan Al-Hinai from Oman. |
