One of Sierra Leone’s youngest Chief Executive Officers, Dauda Musa Bangura, who doubles as Public Relations Officer of the Prince of Wales Old Boys Association, over the weekend departed the shores of Sierra Leone to join millions of Muslims across the globe to perform this year’s Muslim Pilgrimage (Hajj) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a snap interview with 27 year-old owner of the Owl Newspaper, Sheik Dauda Musa Bangura at the Departure Lounge of the Lungi International Airport before boarding his flight to Saudi Arabia on Saturday 5th October, he expressed thanks and praises to the almighty Allah for giving him the opportunity to perform one of the main pillars of Islam, Hajj at a very tender age.

He further thanked his parents for indoctrinating him with an Islamic faith and ethics. He further expressed appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of his ‘holy journey’.

“I have always looked forward to making such a blessed and wonderful journey to the Holy Land to fulfil one of Allah’s commandments to Muslims,” Sheik Bangura told Awareness Times in a very happy mood on Saturday, whilst praying that Allah gives him the required strength and energy to complete all the processes entails in the Pilgrimage.

He used the forum as an opportunity to call on young people in Sierra Leone, especially Muslims and Christians to put the world behind them and focus on fulfilling God’s will and commandments as dictated by His holy books (Quran and Bible).

“We are living in a world of evil and the devil is using young people to misguide their peers so as to achieve his mission in gaining more souls in Hell,” the young Sheik stated, adding: “As young people, we should be the champions to shame Satan by going God’s way”.

Sheik Dauda Musa Bangura further used the forum to encourage his peers to take up the challenge and prepare themselves for the next Pilgrimage.

The first batch of 500 Sierra Leonean pilgrims left the shores of Sierra Leone for Mecca, Saudi Arabia in the morning hours of Saturday 5th October 2013 and was followed by the second batch in the early hours of yesterday Sunday 6th October.

The Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Moijue Kaikai and the Special Assistant to the President on Social Affairs, Alhaji Sheka Kamara (Shekito) led the Pilgrims to the Holy Land. They were accompanied by a well experienced medical team headed by Dr. Mustapha and Mabinty Timbo.
