Former captain of Camp Canada, Amara Taylor Kamara has told Awareness Sports that he`s impressed with club`s preparation ahead of their 2nd edition of Inter-clubs’ athletics competition scheduled for the 9th-10th November 2013 at the Trade Centre ground, Ferry Junction.

Camp Canada is one of Sierra Leone`s oldest and most successful athletic club as they have produced a lot of athletes that have represented the country in previous international games.

The Sierra Leone 110m & 400m hurdles record holder said he`s currently in intensive training as he prepares for the 84th traditional Boxing Day sport meeting at the national stadium main bowl in Freetown.

He said: “The preparation so far is unique and the athletes are working very hard to prove to spectators that the camp is one of Sierra Leone best”, he told this press.

“There are lots of challenges but thank God things are going well. Asked whether he would show up in next month`s meet, he replied, “I`m not going show up because I’m currently in intensive training to get myself 100% fit for the traditional event.

Kamara few months back decided to hang his boot after wining several gold medals in national competitions. He disclosed that he has made up his mind to continue with his career with the objective to continue winning more.

“I was expecting young athletes to have smashed my records but nobody has done that,” He stressed. The Camp Canada golden boy relishes his return as a step forward to his career, adding that his return will motivate young athletes to train hard to break his record.
