Sierra Leone to face Nigeria in African Championship qualifiers

Sierra Leone national female team, Sierra Queens will face Nigerian opponent, Super Falcons in the first round of qualifiers for the 2014 African Women Championship (AWC).

Sierra Leone`s Sierra Queens who are still seeking their first qualification to the Championship will have to face the former champions, the Super Falcons in a bid to qualify for the ninth edition of the AWC which will be held from October 11 to 25th in Namibia

According to the fixture released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Super Falcons will play host to Sierra Leone between February 13 and 15, 2014, while the return leg will be in Freetown on fortnight.

If Sierra Queens advance to the next round, they will face the winners between Rwanda and Kenya in the second round which will be decided between May and June 2014.

In other fixture, Algeria will face Morocco, Egypt will square against Tunisia, Ethiopia versus South Sudan, Burkina Faso versus Ghana, while Ivory Coast will confront Mali.

Other fixtures are Rwanda versus Kenya; Guinea Bissau versus Senegal; Mozambique versus Comoros; Botswana versus Zimbabwe and Zambia versus Tanzania.

Meanwhile, three countries- Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa- were given a bye in the round of qualifiers.
