The 4th edition of the Ernest Bai Koroma football championship is scheduled to commence on 12th October 2013 at the Wusum ground sponsored by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Honorable Chernor “Chericoco” Bah.
Eight teams and four female giants include Suba United, Rising Queens, Malimba Queens and Mamoud FC are set to battle for this year`s prestigious trophy.
The draw gives three clubs – Po-Military, Makeni City FC and Kolifa Stars - their first glance at the foes standing between them and the next stop on their journey to covet their first silverware.
Defending champions Wusum Stars are once again among the main contenders heading for the prestigious trophy as they grouped alongside Area Best, Marampa Stars, Suba FC, and Albaika in B Group while last year`s runners-up Annex FC are grouped alongside Kolifa Stars, Makeni City FC, Alan-Thababan and Po-Military FC.
According to Brima Jalloh aka “BJ” who doubles as chairman of the Bombali District FA and the chief organizer, the tournament will be unique compared to the previous ones.
He said: “We`re expecting a thrilling encounter as both groups are tough and expectations from the teams will make the championship a success,” he told this press.
