Chairman of the Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA), Morrison Sannoh has intimated this press that he would be sponsoring the 2nd edition of Bottom Mango Youth Club ongoing competition at Kanigo ground, Lumley. Twelve teams are currently battling for a place in the quarter final. The teams are grouped A-D and two top teams in each group will secure a place in the quarter finals. In Group A are Jah Bless FC, Sokodeh FC, Future FC, Group B: Cygan FC, Riverside and Only B FC, Group C, Timaya FC, FC Paul, Wan Family, Group D Wan Word FC, B2K Boys and FC Sannoh. Speaking to this press, Morrison Sannoh said he wants to take football in Kanigo to its highest stage. He said: “Football is part of me and I think it`s my responsibility to promote and inspired young players to show case their talents.” He further disclosed that he would be providing the champions and runners trophies and cash prices respectively. He affirmed that the best player and highest goal scorer in the competition will both secure a one year scholarship as signs of motivation. “These boys have talents and I think giving them a year scholarship will serve as an inspirational tool as education is the key to one`s success”. When asked whether he has any political intention, he replied; “I have nothing to with politics! Football is all I have and think promoting young talents across the country is step forward because these young lads are our future players. He however called on football stakeholders, ministers and sports philanthropists to emulate his good example to promote and develop soccer in the country. |
